It's an overdue process which i must say, is quite taxing on the body and the mind. Depending on which type of closet you had in mind and at hand. Generally speaking, we sometimes take a little time on the weekend to clean up our house, sweeping, moping, vacuuming and re-arranging stuff we had. When the time comes for us to put in new things and dump the old ones, which old ones do we keep and why? Interesting point, yes? Then read on......
This situation applies to all conditions from putting away that 5 year old T-shirt you wish you can fit in now to " what was I thinking back then" situation. Same like when you defrag your computers, scan your disc and cleaning up the re-cyle bin. You roughly had the general idea of what you want to keep and what can be shoved down the drain.
What do I keep in my closet? A whole lotta bits and pieces and scraps. I can still wear my levi's engineered jeans which I bought in 1999 (it's a personnel vintage of mine), and most of my wardrobe I can tuck in without much hassle or crying out for help putting it on. So I don't grow much this last 10 years, big deal, save me lotsa money which I spend needlessly on some other matters ( book, comics, Gundam model kit heheheh). I'm just starting to set a whole new line of office wear ( i used to cringe when that word is used, but now I'm more relaxed. It's good to know that I am able to change my perspective on certain areas). Given up about half of my clothes for charity, not that I had plenty to give but some items has sentimental values.
When it comes to memories, it's a bit tricky. Given time, we humans tend to forget things so maybe it's a natural thing of deleting old files and folders but the things we used(people's faces, their names, etc), frequently, we will always have that in our mind. Not forgetting things we forget unintentionally like, the dateline of submitting last week reports, the telephone calls need to be made, dinner arrangement to book, or ebeven taking out the thrash etc etc etc. I have good advice about this but be sure to have back-ups on important stuff and don't delete too much information hehehehe.
All is good then, I know I still have more to write but this will suffice for the time being. Happy holidays people!
